Diagnostics

If a component fails or starts to fail, diagnostic messages are usually returned from the endpoint.
For instance, the Status message returns OK when the component is running properly.
If a phlashing attack is in progress components being targetted by the attack may return error,stressed,degraded,Pred Fail i.e predict failure,NonRecover i.e Non Recoverable. Other messages like No Contact,Lost Comm are also an indicator that something is happening to damage the component and endpoint.
The Predict Failure and Stressed messages should not be ignored as you may find you are able to reverse the component failure A hardware scan may produce alarms that indicate failing components. Alarms are produced when a hardware sensor is set to WARNING or DOWN.

Alarms
