When BIOS firmware is re-flashed it may contain a virus.
A hardware scan will take place to determine if any components have been damaged etc.
If Hard Drive firmware has changed and a virus is installed, malicious encryption of the main drive may occur.
If a known phlashing virus is detected the process will be stopped.
